artist statement
creating and supporting handmade art is one of my biggest priorities in life. i am not a fine artist, nor will i ever be -- i am simply a creative person.
i was taught to knit at 7 years old by my great-grandmother, and picked it up here and there in the following years. however, in my later years of college, i have completely immersed myself in knitting and its culture. i choose high-quality, sustainable fibers whenever possible and find comfort knowing my pieces will last lifetimes -- yet will one day return seamlessly back to earth.
beyond knitting, i love casually painting (especially with watercolors), working with clay, drawing personal, handmade cards for my loved ones, and exploring any other crafts that inspire me. i seek out handmade versions of items i like, and fill my home with local art from the places i have grown up.
know that when you see my work, its not meant to be critiqued -- it is meant to be loved and appreciated for the values it represents: living slowly, sustainably, and creatively. it serves as a reminder of the beauty in mindful creation, the joy in handmade craftsmanship, and the importance of cherishisng what is made with care.
i hope that my work inspires you to create and support local art.
